El Pajar de Navacerrada

01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the charming setting of Pl. del Álamo, 4, Madrid, El Pajar de Navacerrada is much more than a typical dining spot—it’s a vibrant fusion of a restaurant, beer store, seafood haven, lunch retreat, and wine bar. This unique blend creates an inviting atmosphere where locals and visitors alike can indulge in a genuinely memorable culinary experience.

The cuisine here is a true testament to Spanish flavors, with a notable emphasis on fresh, high-quality seafood and traditional yet inventive dishes. Guests rave about the almejas en tomate, clams bathed in a rich tomato sauce that beautifully balance tangy, savory notes, perfect when paired with a cold, crisp beer from their well-curated store selection. The sharing salmorejo, a creamy gazpacho variant, is a delightful starter that fosters conviviality at the table, while the chefs' salad bursts with vibrant freshness, offering a lighter, refreshing complement to the richer fare.

For those craving heartier fare, the aged entrecot served sizzling on a hot plate delivers an irresistible experience—its tender, juicy meat practically melts in the mouth, amplified by the aromatic sizzle that sets the senses alight. Whether you’re settling in for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening, the welcoming environment here strikes a perfect balance between cozy intimacy and lively camaraderie.

More than just great food, customers continuously highlight the warmth and professionalism of the staff. From accommodating vegetarian and vegan options to genuine smiles and attentive service, El Pajar de Navacerrada makes every guest feel right at home. As one loyal visitor beautifully summarized, the place feels like an extension of the Sierra itself—a true community gem where delicious food and heartfelt hospitality intertwine seamlessly.

In essence, El Pajar de Navacerrada is a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in authentic Spanish flavors, paired thoughtfully with excellent drinks in a space where good company thrives. Whether you arrive by chance or plan your visit weeks ahead, you’ll depart with a full belly and a warm heart.

An evening in early June and Navacerrada was dead. This restaurant was one of the few opened and it wasn’t our first choice but we had a really lovely meal. The chefs salad was fresh and I liked how the salmorejo was a sharing dish. The almejas in tomato were very tasty (although messy) and went well with a cold beer. Finally the aged entrecot served on a hot sizzling plate was delicious, tender and succulent. The accompanying potatoes were too much and we left them. Service was fast and courteous. Nothing to fault. Definitely coming back.

Probably El Pajar is my favorite place in the whole sierra. Food is delicious and the people there are very friendly and professional. I keep going back since I moved to the area.

Nice bar and restaurant with spacious terrace. The food is really delicious and good sized portions. The staff are friendly but their system to work is poor and the service needs a big improvement. We wish them luck but would be cautious to return on a busy weekend.

¡Seguiremos yendo!
